PPEC services are 100% covered by Medicaid. Parents/Guardians with Medicaid coverage need not pay a dime! For those ineligible for Medicaid, Small Steps reduces the financial burden through collaboration with most private insurances. We even handle all of the necessary paperwork!
For those, not Medicaid eligible, Small Steps PPEC works with most private insurances to handle all the necessary paperwork to reduce as much financial burden as possible subject to plan benefits for prescribed pediatric care services.
Any child from birth to 21 years old who requires nursing care and has a medically fragile or complex diagnosis is qualified for the PPEC program.

Small Steps PPEC focuses on including the family in the plan of care (POC) to assist in gaining the confidence necessary to integrate the child into family life. The Small Steps PPEC has a strong team consisting of a board-certified pediatrician, registered nurses, a physical therapist, an occupational therapist, a speech therapist, and a behavioral therapist each of whom works together to create a one-of-a-kind care ecosystem.
